• Develops, Plans, organizes, and directs a wide range of training activities
• Consults with on-site senior management regarding available performance improvement services and conducts orientation sessions and arranges on-the-job training for mid-level managers
• Helps mid-level managers maintain and improve their managerial skills, and possibly prepare for positions requiring greater skill
• Assists mid-level managers improve technical, interpersonal, managerial skills in order to deal effectively with unit employees
• Sets up individualized training plans to strengthen mid-level managers’ existing skill or teach new ones
• Conducts needs assessments and sets up leadership or executive development programs among mid-level management positions
• Designs programs to develop leaders, or “groom” them, to replace those leaving the organization, as part of a succession plan
• Leads programs to assist mid-level managers’ with job transitions as a result of mergers and acquisitions, as well as technological changes
• In government-supported training programs, functions as case manager and assess the training needs of clients and guide them through the most appropriate training method
